Small product images, padded to Google's 500×500 minimum.
From 31 January 2027, Google Merchant Center requires product images of at least 500×500 pixels. Padfold finds the images in your Shopify catalogue that fall short and pads each one onto a canvas that meets Google's published minimum. Every original is kept, and on the Standard plan you can revert any fix.
How it works
- ScanPadfold reads your product images and lists every main and additional image below 500×500 pixels.
- PadEach short image is centred on a 500×500 (or larger) canvas in a matching background colour. The product itself is not stretched, upscaled or redrawn.
- Keep the originalThe original file is stored, so on Standard you can put it back with one click.
Why now
Google's Merchant Center product data specification update 2026 raises the minimum resolution for main and additional product images to 500×500 pixels, across all categories, from 31 January 2027. Merchant Center has been warning about undersized images since 14 April 2026.
Padfold makes images meet the size minimum only. Google reviews products against many other requirements; Padfold is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
